HISTORY
Economic Development Group (ED Group) was found in 2001 by Ukrainian private investors on the basis
of DSU Investment Advisers, to make equity investments in large enterprises in the leading industries of Ukrainian
and CIS economies. In 2001, ED Group obtained a 51% stake in Khmel'nitskgas plc and has been an active part of the
private equity investment business in the region since then. Within 2003-2004, we acquired following enterprises,
which operate in the gas transportation and distribution market in Ukraine:
- Zhytomyrgas plc
- Rovnogas plc
- Zaporoj'egas plc
- Nikolaevgas plc
- Dnepropetrovskgas plc
- Tysmennizagas plc.
Following these acquisitions, GAZTEK Concern was launched in 2005, which is the leading private player
in the gas transportation and distribution market in Ukraine. The primary motive of GAZTEK Concern is to
govern the issues concerned with strategic development of the companies and resolve existing problems in the gas industry.
We took a long-term view on opportunities within Ukrainian economy and started to diversify our investment portfolio:
2003 - Acquisition of a fast developing IT company, which provides B2B IT solutions and financial flow optimization.
2004 - 50% stake obtainment in "Teplovodoenergy" plc, which is a regular utility provider
- Acquisition of "Dneproinmed", a leading medical insurance company
2005 - 50% of stake of Energy Audit Institute was added to ED Group's investment portfolio,
which is one of the leaders of energy savings solutions providers in Ukraine
