Visit of the Singapore Business Federation to Ukraine

2-6 September 2006 ED Group hosted a visit of Singapore Business Federation in Kiev, Ukraine.

Trade mission consisted of 9 Singaporean companies, which represented different fields of industry, such as: chemical, technical, IT, engineering, healthcare, manufacturing and textile trading, real estate, food, and logistics. This was the first joint visit of both governmental and privately owned business companies. Governmental institutions were represented by the following companies: Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore, Jurong Consultants PTE LTD and Singapore Tourism Board. Private business sector was represented by Alteco Cehmical Pte Ltd, Assess Enterprise Engrg Pte Ltd, Rednet Pte Ltd, Tolaram Corporation, Toyopower Automotive & Industries (Asia) Pte Ltd and Pacific Healthcare Holdings Ltd.

The main goal of this visit was to promote bilateral trade expansion and business networking between Ukraine and Singapore.

During 4 days stay, company representatives had a chance to meet with their Ukrainian counterparts dealing in the same business areas. The parties discussed possibilities of establishing closer business ties and cooperation, including business expansion.

Delegates also attended presentations hosted by Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Alfa Capital. These presentations provided complex overview of Ukraine's economic and political state, highlighting such important issues as: country competitiveness, taxation, investment regulations, banking and finance sector, employment regulations.

Delegation members stated that there is a ground for the new visits to follow as they expressed interest in developing bilaterally mutual relations with newly founded counterparts.
